DON’T SIT THIS ONE OUT!

We are The Grrrl Project, and we believe that when girls play, they win—not just on the field, but in life. We are a movement dedicated to empowering girls through sports, fostering confidence, leadership, and resilience. Yet, for many girls—especially those from underprivileged backgrounds—the opportunity to play is far from guaranteed. Whether due to financial barriers, lack of access to facilities, or cultural stigma, too many young women are forced to give up sports before they’ve had the chance to experience its full benefits. We exist to change that.

The research is undeniable: girls who play sports are more likely to succeed in school, in careers, and in leadership roles. Studies show that 94% of female CEOs played sports, and girls involved in athletics are more likely to graduate, earn higher wages, and develop critical leadership skills. Yet, by age 14, girls from low-income communities drop out of sports at nearly twice the rate of their peers, often due to the cost of equipment, limited programs, and a lack of female role models in athletics. Without intervention, these disparities only widen, reinforcing cycles of inequality.

We provide resources, mentorship, and direct funding to ensure that girls—regardless of their background—can stay in the game. We amplify the stories of women in sports, create pathways for participation, and challenge the outdated narratives that tell girls they don’t belong. By investing in community-based programs, scholarships, and grassroots initiatives, we make sure that opportunity isn’t reserved for the privileged few, but available to every girl with the passion to play.

This is more than just sports. It’s about equity, empowerment, and unlocking potential. A world where more girls, including those from marginalized communities, stay in sports is a world with more women in boardrooms, in STEM, in politics, and leading change. The Grrrl Project isn’t just about building better athletes—it’s about building a stronger, more inclusive society. And we’re just getting started.
